This dear youngest friend of My Quilt Room, Lindie, came today during the school holiday, to do the much anticipated binding on her little Quilt. She was fourteen when she attended her first Patchwork and Quilting workshop with me and since two years have passed. We decided to take into consideration her being a full time scholar, hockey player, teenager and all and took time to let her go through all the bits and pieces of learning all the skills of patchwork and quilting. It has been a lovely journey with her. I have a huge amount of respect for Lindie as not often young girls want to spend time doing heritage crafts. Also it has been easy to teach her as she has literally been growing up with her Mom doing sewing and designing for many years and Lindie has been her Mom’s greatest admirer. So Lindie quickly grasped all and if she carries on making Quilts I see a lot of blooming pretty Quilts for her family and friends in the future! She will most definitely one day be a Master at this and be teaching the skills to others.
