Here we go, this is Baby Brophy’s Quilt, not completed yet, but sandwiched and ooh la laa we love it. Megan and I have worked together on this Quilt and because I stitched the blocks together with the borders, she did all the sandwich part. This is her second Quilt to sandwich and she is doing it very well. Soon she will be able to earn some extra moneys by sandwiching Quilts during her studies. I am going to handquilt around all the applique and in the squares of the blocks with different colours DMC threads so that the Quilt has a unique and colourful finish. I want to bind it later with a small red / maroon check. This Quilt should help Baby Brophy with identifying pictures and naming them as he plays with it getting into the toddler stage. My idea with the Quilt was that it depicts his Mom and Dad’s love by always having their hands open and heartfelt towards him and then with all interesting pictures which is naturally part of little ones’ lives. The backing of the Quilt is as interesting and will show it once Quilted and binded as I ran out of calico and had to make do, which is inspiring and loads of fun!
