All has returned to being completely and utterly wonderful in My Quilt Room. Senea has returned to our home from her sickbed. Miss E has recovered entirely from her flu which resulted in upper respiratory infection, and as we all know, one has to keep faith and prayers flowing when that happens. She is now her dear old bouncy self! Simply lovely. Dears it was an all consuming and testing time for me. Limited stitching time and alas I also realized my Quilts may wait. All in good time when I can once again dedicate myself to my craft. Even though I have now a few unfinished blocks, the beautiful bag and so on, I am however giving thanks that Senea and Miss E are healthy!
Seeing that I cannot show case the unfinished projects for now I am showing off the Quilt that I made for my Son and his wife in Australia. And so soon he will be visiting us and collecting same to warm their home. Megan has taken to blanket stitching Baby Brophy’s blocks in the afternoons, after her study sessions in the mornings, which is a blessing. Thus all well here and the Quilts will be stitched, sandwiched and handquilted shortly. So many Quilts are in their blooming stage for now here in My Quilt Room. Keep looking!
This Quilt has a more modern look, yet handquilted to add that loved homespun feel and keep it generously soft. It is an easy technique whereby you start with a rectangle block for the centre and simply stitch away, log cabin style, until you have a big enough Patchwork Quilt top. For their Quilt I used brighter colours which my daughter-in-law loves adding to the minimalistic and light decor of their home.
